Morganne Davies, is thrilled to join the PRMS Community! Ms. Davies is an educational leader in her sixth year as a secondary theatre director. She comes to Pearson Ranch from Cedar Ridge HS where she served as Technical Theatre Director for two years. Before moving to Texas, Ms. Davies revitalized struggling theatre programs at Title One schools in Fairfax County, VA. Outside the classroom, Ms. Davies has developed and implemented several school-wide cultural initiatives. Prior to becoming a full-time theatre director, she served as a professional actor and teaching artist for students ages 3-93.
As a professional actor, Ms. Davies has performed in NY and regionally with the Clarence Brown Theater, WSC Avant Bard, Shakespeare & Company, Ensemble Studio Theater, Capital fringe Festival, Inwood Shakespeare Festival, HERE Arts Center and others. She has also appeared in award-winning films as part of the DC Shorts and 48 Hour Film Festivals. She has presented her research on voice and imagination at the 2011 Voice & Speech Trainer’s Association (VASTA) and Association for Theater in Higher Education conference. Ms. Davies holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Tennessee a BA in Theatre from Fordham University and graduate certificates in Educational Theatre and Educational Leadership. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity, the Educational Theatre Association and the Voice and Speech Trainers Associations. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Davies enjoys cycling, reading, building furniture and spending time with her Scottie, Duncan. |
